Cherished

“So much talk for
  So close a relation.”
~ Miriam Hershenson, “Husbands and Wives” (1923)

We two are friends
Some of the best ever
Since what could be better
Whether parent and child
Separate through growth
Whether mutual muses
Feel quite good enough
Whether wife and husband
Get children between them
Whether follower and leader
Rely but on faith
What development’s needed
As need’s not master
What inspiration’s rising
As each of us falls
What condition’s binding
As we’re letting loose
What belief’s held
As nothing’s more to embrace
Than two
Forever grateful at meeting
Forever wistful at parting
Forever yin and yang
Forever beneficial
Forever cherished
Forever friends
