“Underlying all conflict in nature is common ground.”
~ Alan Watts, in a recorded talk titled “Reality, Art, and Illusion” (1965)

Who isn’t crazy
At least a little?
Doesn’t compatibility mean
Crazy the same way
Purposely made so
Like a huge crop repetitive
And vulnerable
A hotbed of infestation
Needing poisons sprayed
Addictive and cherished?
The invaders yet come
Unwanted misfits
The weapons for expunging them
Insufficiently effective but
Improving and uniting.
So we race.
If I’ve seen further than others
It’s because I’ve put on my glasses
Then taken a look around
Found much to consider
Then a few things to say
And you, at last.
