Mornings like this

“How could I have seen you
save from a great height or a great distance?”
~ Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet (1923)

Mornings like this I feel her
The playful mist embraces & kisses
The earnest wetness colludes with accepting soil
The unreachable sky broods pumice mystery
What mornings like this would’ve been like had I never been made
To let her go
